Our building guidelines meet and will normally exceed the NC State Building Code. We do not cut corners to save money just because something may pass the local inspection. A porch carries posts, beams and a cover overhead, and years of experience tell us what it actually takes to build a sound structure.

A covered porch keeps the weather off the door and a screened porch keeps the evenings usable. Screened porches, covered porches and open decks all get the same framing standard underneath, and either kind of porch can often be added to a deck you already have when the footings and framing below are up to it.
